Hot, dry air combined with Santa Ana winds pushed the fire threat to full alert in Southern California this week.

San Diego County has seen the most damage so far. The number of large fires crews are fighting dropped from nine to six Thursday, but the forecast calls for another day of gusty winds and high heat.
