“Stiff winds were gusting over 30 mph at times this afternoon around the Oklahoma City metro area, which may have contributed to the spread of the fire,” said weather.com meteorologist Quincy Vagell.

According to News On 6, the fire took place in the 17000 block of S. Air Depot Boulevard around 2:30 p.m., threatening several homes and structures. Firefighters were able to work quickly and get the fire under control within an hour.

A few residents of the area were evacuated as a precaution, and several cedar trees were said to be fueling the flames, reports KFOR. There have been no reports of when the evacuated can return to their homes.

In addition to the 10-acre blaze, around 2 p.m. firefighters also battled grass fires near the intersection of Southwest 81 and Shartel and at 7410 S. MacArthur, according to KOCO.

No injuries or damage have yet been reported from any of the fires.
