Silos are one of the most recognizable features of a farm. But it's also interesting to see how they react to the elements.

Here are some instances of silos going up against mother nature. In some cases, like the tornado that struck Missouri in March, mother nature wins. In others, these structures are repurposed into something completely new. In Iowa during Winter 2007, a pair of frozen-over silos were used to teach ice climbing to college students.
