This Is What It’s Like to Drive on Ice

This is what it’s like to drive on ice — and it’s scary.

New video from Spring Valley, New York, shows just how terrible the road conditions were on Sunday.

First, you see an orange truck lose control, spin sideways, and then head backwards down the slick hill.

It’s not long before a second vehicle follows behind it -- and you know what's about to happen. The second car is unable to avoid colliding with the backwards truck, and you can hear the crunching sounds when it hits.

This is one of thousands of accidents across the Northeast Sunday morning, when millions from Pennsylvania into New York, Connecticut and New Jersey woke up to ice-caked roads and interstates. The poor road conditions are blamed for at least seven deaths.
