With so many species in decline, it’s always important to highlight the stories of one returning from the brink of extinction. This is the Guam kingfisher, known locally as a Sihek, and for the past 40 years, it has been extinct in the wild. But thanks to extensive captive breeding programs, this species is turning its fortunes around.
