Black Moon: A Bedtime Sky Story

August 22, 2025

On Aug. 23, 2025, the moon will reach its new phase, positioning itself in the constellation Leo just north of the sun, rendering it invisible from Earth. It occurs approximately once every 33 months and is notable for its unusual timing rather than any visible spectacle.
