Clipper To Bring Gusty Winds, Snow To Great Lakes, Northeast

March 13, 2026Updated: March 13, 2026, 7:22 am EDTPublished: March 13, 2026, 7:22 am EDT

A clipper will move across the Great Lakes Thursday night into Friday, then impact the Northeast Friday into Saturday. This system will be a quick mover, but expect accumulating snow, along with colder air and windy conditions. Several inches look likely with the highest amounts forecast across northern Wisconsin and northern Michigan. Winds could gust as high as 50-60 mph, which could result in whiteout conditions, making travel difficult to impossible. Watch this video to see when the worst of the weather will impact you.
