Kilauea Volcano Erupts, Forces Closures At National Park

Hawaii’s Kilauea volcano erupts more frequently than almost every other volcano on Earth, but Tuesday’s episode was different. The 1,000-foot-high lava fountains were responsible for temporarily closing parts of the park and a nearby highway. The reason? Falling ash and glassy fragments known as tephra made it too dangerous for visitors and travelers alike. Watch this video to see more of the eruption.
