Tornadoes Leave Damage in Mississippi, Alabama (PHOTOS)

While there appears to be no death toll from this round of severe weather, major structural damage was left in the wake of these storms. According to the National Weather Service, there were eight confirmed tornadoes in Mississippi and Alabama Tuesday. The storms took down trees and power poles and damaged dozens of homes. 

Storm chasers captured video of a large and destructive wedge tornado was near the western Alabama towns of Aliceville and Carrollton Tuesday night. Shortly after, photos from the area showed plenty of damage to homes and structures.

The system has made a cross-country track, first hitting California over the weekend The first round of storms in the West killed a 48-year-old woman in San Diego when strong winds knocked over a large oak tree that crushed her passing car, NBC San Diego reported.  Four cars were caught underneath the downed tree, but the other three were parked with nobody inside, the report added. The storm also left tens of thousands without power.
