Mike Martin was fishing on Lake St. Clair in Michigan and caught something more commonly seen in aquariums than lakes, according to reports: a goldfish.

This, however, is not your average goldfish. NPR reports the fish weighed in at more than 3 pounds, and measured close to 15 inches long.

Tropicalfishdata.com, a site that focuses on the care and breeding of tropical fish, states the main factors that affect the growth of a goldfish are feeding and temperature, and that in ponds, lifespans of 15 to 20 years are not unheard of.

“Basically, I was doing what I always do, trying to catch perch and I thought I had a big perch on. Um…definitely not a perch,” Mike Martin told Fox 17 news, “I’ve been fishing this lake for 20 years, first one I’ve ever caught. I called my dad the second it came out of the hole. I didn’t know what to do with it…asked him what I should do with it. I’ve never caught a goldfish. What do you do with a goldfish?”

Apparently, mount it on your wall.
