Ballpark Treats That Beat The Summer Heat

Baseball. The National Pastime. We’ve all enjoyed summer days at the game, watching everything from the Majors to the Minors try to hit home runs and enjoy the seventh inning stretch.

But as ballparks have gotten more unique, so have their food options. Sure, most parks have their signature hot dog, but as the days get hotter, where are the options to help cool you down?

Here is the list of the best ballpark food across the country to keep you cool.

Dole Whip

Previously, you could only find this frozen treat at Disneyland in Anaheim. Now you can enjoy this pleasant pineapple pleasure at two stadiums: Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles and, as of this year, Chase Field in Phoenix. If going to L.A., you have to get it in the classic Dodgers hat bowl!

Frozen Custard

What’s more classic than going to the game at American Family Field and enjoying frozen custard? Kopp’s offers countless flavors — classics like chocolate and vanilla, more unique like pistachio and Key lime pie. But this year, they launched Mr. Baseball Custard, a tribute to the late, longtime voice of the Brewers, Bob Uecker.

The Chase Field Churro Dog is not what you would expect! This is no hot dog — you take a Long John chocolate-glazed donut for the bun, a cinnamon churro for the dog, top with three scoops of frozen yogurt, whipped cream, and caramel and chocolate sauce as the condiments. Make sure to grab a ton of napkins, as there is no way to eat this without making a mess.

Cinnamon Churro Milkshake

Speaking of churros, Guaranteed Rate Field has its own variation. Now, when you’re in Chicago, you absolutely have to get the dog — or the Comiskey Dogs at a White Sox game — but to stay chill during the summer, you can’t go wrong with a milkshake. Now, stick a churro in it like a straw and you have the start of this tasty beverage.

Wowfulls

Head to Brooklyn to enjoy one of the most unique desserts in the country! Wowfulls are take on the classic ice cream cone, but instead of a waffle cone, it is in a Hong Kong-inspired bubble waffle. Don’t expect basic flavors either at Citi Field in Flushing, as the menu offers the likes of Crazy Vanilla, Cotton Candy Pop Rocks, and Strawberry Short Cake just to name a few. Definitely the coolest at keeping you cool.
