The Ryder Cup, professional golf's biennial battle between the United States and Europe, will continue through Sunday at the Bethpage Black Course on Long Island, New York.

The event held every other year was last played at the end of September 2023 in Italy.

The threat of rain Thursday already shifted the opening ceremony to Wednesday afternoon.

Let's see if rain could be a nuisance for the 45th Ryder Cup tournament, itself.

Weather Looks Hopeful

The tournament's weather looks pretty decent overall.

That doesn't mean it will be dry all weekend, but the timing of any rain could be very lucky.

Some showers may move into Long Island Saturday night and continue into early Sunday morning. While not a soaker, this rain could help slow the greens down for the players Sunday.

After that, the rest of Sunday's final round weather looks great.

Temperatures will be very mild for the first weekend of fall, and humidity levels should be tolerable for the last weekend of September.
