‘Flesh-Eating’ Bacteria Spikes In Florida

Cases of Vibrio vulnificus, sometimes referred to as “flesh-eating” bacteria, are spiking after hurricanes Helene and Milton in Florida. The highest number of cases as of Oct. 11 were in Pinellas and Hillsborough counties in the Tampa Bay area. Other counties hard hit were also seeing an increase. Here’s what to know.
