Clearing Destruction On The Appalachian Trail After Helene

November 17, 2024

Parts of the 2,200-mile Appalachian Trail were hammered by Hurricane Helene. Work is underway to clear mountains of trees, large rootballs and other debris blocking sections of the trail. Some sections remain closed, but work is underway to get as much open as possible before the through-hiking season starts in February.
