Severe Thunderstorms and Heavy Rain Possible From Eastern Great Lakes to the Mid-Atlantic Tuesday

Strong to severe thunderstorms will rumble through parts of the eastern Great Lakes and mid-Atlantic ahead of a cold front on Tuesday.

This storm system has produced pockets of severe weather and flooding since Sunday.

Storms along the northern Louisiana border killed a 45-year-old woman Monday evening. The woman was in a mobile home northwest of Spearsville, Louisiana, when a tree was downed onto the mobile home by straight-line winds.

Heavy rainfall caused significant flash flooding in south-central Wisconsin Monday night, including in Middleton and Black Earth. Over 10 inches of rain was measured a few miles west of Madison, Wisconsin.

An apparent tornado destroyed a barn, damaged outbuildings, and damaged trees near Mazie, Oklahoma, about 30 miles east of Tulsa. Tornadoes were also sighted Sunday southwest and southeast of Springfield, Missouri.

Up to 5 inches of rain flooded homes and businesses Sunday night in Clinton, Arkansas, about 60 miles north-northwest of Little Rock. High water rescues were performed in the nearby town of Formosa.
