Strong to severe thunderstorms will continue to impact parts of the northern tier through late week, producing damaging wind gusts, large hail and an isolated tornado threat.

  • The second weather system will track into the upper Midwest by Thursday, producing at least some severe weather in that region during the afternoon and evening hours.
  • A few severe storms might also develop in North Carolina and Virginia.
  • W​ind damage and hail remain the primary threats in all of those areas. An isolated tornado cannot be ruled out in the upper Midwest.
  • T​he chance of isolated severe storms will shift into the Great Lakes on Friday.
