Friday’s severe threat is a level 3 out of 5 on the scale and includes much of the storm-weary Midwest and Plains. Widespread severe storms are expected and the area most at risk includes Kansas City, Madison, Des Moines, Wichita and Oklahoma City. A few strong tornadoes, hail larger than golf balls and damaging winds in excess of 75 mph will all be possible. Heavy rain could also lead to flooding.
