A multiday severe weather event is poised to kick off Friday that will last through the middle of next week in the Central U.S. from the Southern Plains into the Midwest, including major cities like Dallas, Oklahoma City, St. Louis and Chicago. This weekend, damaging winds and large hail are the main threats, but isolated tornadoes are possible from supercell thunderstorms.
