New Multi-Threat Severe, Flood Outlook This Week

April 1, 2025

April kicks off the busiest three months of the year for tornadoes in the U.S., and quite appropriately, a fresh severe threat is building for the same regions that have been battered time and time again recently by waves of severe weather. The severe threat is ramping up Tuesday, but the threat peaks on Wednesday: a severe weather outbreak including severe wind gusts, very large hail and significant tornadoes is possible across the Central U.S., including places like Chicago, St. Louis, Columbus, Nashville, Little Rock and Dallas. Heavy rain is also possible across the Mississippi, Tennessee and Ohio Valleys, with a potentially significant threat of flash flooding. The threat then shifts eastward on Thursday. Time it out here.
