Serious Severe Outbreak Of Tornadoes, Wind & Hail

March 14, 2025

A dangerous severe weather outbreak is set to begin Friday afternoon and continue through Sunday. Threats include strong and long-track tornadoes, wind gusts higher than 70 mph, hail up to baseball size, intense lightning and flash flooding. Damaging winds could knock out power and bring down trees and power lines. The threat persists overnight Friday and Saturday, so it’s critical to have a way to receive warnings while you sleep. If you’re traveling, plan ahead and know where to seek shelter if a warning is issued. Cities at risk include St. Louis, Memphis, Nashville, Birmingham, New Orleans and Atlanta. By Sunday, the storms shift to the East Coast, impacting New York, Washington DC, Philadelphia and Jacksonville. Stay alert and be prepared.
