Straight-line Winds, Tornado, Hail Threat

April 4, 2025

A line of strong thunderstorms is continuing its trek through the Southeast and mid-Atlantic Monday evening, and hazardous weather is possible for Washington, D.C., Raleigh, Jacksonville, Charlotte and Baltimore. Southern portions of the Northeast, including New York City and Philadelphia, could even see impacts late Monday. The prominent threat for the day is straight-line winds, though large hail and isolated tornadoes are also possible. Impacts to the I-85 and I-95 corridors are possible for evening commutes, potentially causing hazardous travel conditions.
