Strong Winds, Hail, Tornadoes Possible Late Week

A strong storm system will bring a multiday severe weather threat to many of the northern states this week. First up is the Northern Plains. Severe storms could develop late Wednesday and produce strong winds, large hail and an isolated tornado from Bismarck and Sioux Falls down to Grand Island. The severe storm threat increases Thursday and places like Chicago, Minneapolis, Green Bay and Milwaukee could see damaging winds, large hail up to 2 inches in diameter and a few tornadoes. The chance for severe weather shifts south on Friday to include much of the Ohio and Tennessee valleys.
