Potential Severe Outbreak Ahead, Tornadoes Possible

March 12, 2025

A severe weather outbreak is possible late Friday into Saturday as an upper-level trough and a deepening surface low move into the Plains. Moisture from the Gulf will surge northward bringing all the necessary ingredients together for severe weather. This includes the possibility for tornadoes, supercells, damaging winds, large hail and lightning. Cities included in this threat are Little Rock, Arkansas, Memphis, Tennessee and St. Louis, Missouri. By Saturday, storms could fire up from New Orleans, Louisiana, through Birmingham, Alabama, northward to Louisville, Kentucky and possibly even into Atlanta, Georgia. If you live in these areas, think about where you would go if a tornado warning is issued, especially if you are out and about. Here are the details we have so far.
