Severe Outbreak Alert: Danger Begins Friday

An outbreak of severe weather is expected to begin on Friday afternoon and last into Sunday with the likelihood of several, strong tornadoes, wind gusts up to hurricane force, lightning, flash flooding and large hail. Winds could likely knock out power and bring down trees and power lines. The threat could begin Friday afternoon and last into the overnight hours both on Friday night and Saturday night, so it is important to have a way to get your warning while you sleep. Be aware if you are traveling the days these storms push through, know where you might go if a warning is issued. Cities in the path of these storms include, St. Louis, Missouri, Memphis and Nashville, Tennessee, Birmingham, Alabama, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Atlanta, Georgia. By Sunday storms are on the east coast impacting cities from New York to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, south to Jacksonville, Florida.
