Severe Threat, Heat Risk Takes Aim At East Coast Tuesday

July 10, 2025

Tropical moisture will interact with a cold front to produce scattered severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon into Tuesday evening. Damaging winds gusts and heavy rain will be the main threats along the Interstate 95 corridor from New York City, Philadelphia, down to Baltimore, Washington, D.C., and Richmond. Slow moving storms could dump 2+ inches of rain per hour. In addition to the severe threat, heat advisories have been issued from Boston to Raleigh. The risk for heat-related illnesses will be going up as feels-like temperatures range from the upper 90s to over 100 degrees.
