Nighttime tornadoes are especially dangerous because they often strike while people are asleep, making it difficult to see them coming unless lightning briefly illuminates the sky. With storms building throughout the day and peaking into the evening, meteorologist Rob Shackelford warns that having multiple alert systems ready before bed and treating every nighttime warning as an immediate threat can mean the difference between life and death.
