Terrifying New Jersey Turnpike Tractor-Trailer Crash Caught on Video

Black ice after heavy rain in the Northeast caused hundreds of accidents Sunday, including a close call on the New Jersey Turnpike that one driver captured on his cell phone.

The video, taken by YouTube user MrLegolize, shows a tandem tractor-trailer jumping across a median guard rail and crashing.

The man who shot the video told WABC in New York that he was blocked by two trucks at Exit 9 in New Brunswick and took the video while he was awaiting for them to move. That's when he said he heard a noise behind him.

The man, who did not want to be identified, remained call as his car was nearly missed. He said he was calm until he turned off his camera and called 911.

"I realized how badly my hands were shaking," he told WABC.

No one was injured in this crash, police said, but elsewhere in the Northeast on Sunday at least nine people died as a result of the traffic crashes on icy roads.
