Winter Storm Nika Makes for Icy Commute for Millions in New York, Boston, Philadelphia

Winter Storm Nika moved into the Northeast on Wednesday morning with snow, freezing rain and sleet, creating treacherous travel conditions for more than 20 million people. Hundreds of flights have been canceled  or delayed Wednesday morning. Here's a look at commuter conditions in New York, Boston and Philadelphia/Trenton.

New York: Four inches of snow piled up in New York City during the early morning hours of Wednesday as a burst of heavy snow moved through the metro area. The snow then changed to freezing rain around 6 a.m. The combination of ice and snow will lead to dangerous travel conditions through Wednesday morning. By early afternoon, the freezing rain should taper off. In addition to the poor travel conditions, the ice could cause some broken tree limbs and power outages. Subway | Bus | Rail Information
