Many workers are buckling under the pressure of workloads and meetings. According to job search website and career platform Zippia, 89% of Americans suffered from work burnout in the past year.

Corporate Wellness Magazine and Zippia both report that working without vacations or holidays can damage health and negatively affect family life. The more employees work without breaks, the more tired and unproductive they become.

The pressures of workloads, meetings, and clients are a never-ending cycle, and employees have no energy to handle everything thrown at them. When people feel helpless, exhausted, and overwhelmed, they are burned out and need to fix that as soon as they can. The way to ease burnout is to take a vacation from work and responsibilities.

When experiencing burnout, people should change scenery to jump start the recovery process and adopt a more sustainable mindset. This means packing bags and going somewhere to clear the mind and soul. Even though staying busy and productive keeps people active, it is essential to unplug from work occasionally.

Can a Vacation Help Workers Reset?

Many jobs are incredibly stressful, with extended hours and countless meetings. With many people working five days a week, this can take a toll on their bodies if they don't pause to care for themselves. To get both physical and mental rest, people need to get away from the work environment and give their bodies a chance to recover.

Benefits of a Vacation

Improved Health

Whether for physical or mental health, vacation can help people recharge. The majority of the workforce stress is due to workload. The brain can't work all the time; it needs a break, too. When people take vacations, they lessen the risk of heart disease. According to AARP Travel Research, boomers get better sleep, have more energy, and increased productivity after a vacation. When people leave the workplace behind, they can explore a new environment that helps them feel less anxious, happier, and well-rested.

Boost Happiness

People's frowns turn upside down when they experience something new. According to WSU Insider, people are happier when they take time off. The Waco Tribune conducted a survey on 2,000 Americans aged 21 and above, and about one-third of respondents experience their utmost joy during vacation. People get a sense of joy and fulfillment with something to look forward to. They are more energized and positive when taking vacations.

Relieve Stress: Vacations provide a break from work where people don't have to deal with the demands and feel the pressures from their supervisors. A Brain and Behavior Research Foundation study proved that taking a vacation reduces stress and relieve pressure.
