It's time once again for us to take a look around the world and see what's been happening, weatherwise. From mesmerizing lava flows to extreme flooding, here are the photos that caught our eye this past week.

Iceland

A volcano in Iceland’s Reykjanes peninsula volcano began erupting again in late November, marking the seventh time in a year that this particular volcano has done so. This eruption sent a lava flow toward the Blue Lagoon spa, one of Iceland’s most famous tourist attractions, forcing it to close as roads around it were literally blocked by lava (as shown in the photo above).

For the first time in 18 years, an ice and snow sculpture exhibition is being held in Oberhausen, Germany. A group of 35 international artists worked for months in 17 degree Fahrenheit temperatures to create the marvelous artworks.

Malaysia

Residents walked on a flooded street after heavy monsoon rains in downtown Kota Bharu, Kelantan, Malaysia, last Friday. The heavy monsoon rains that have caused the worst flooding to hit Malaysia and Thailand in decades abated this weekend, allowing some displaced residents to return home, authorities said. However, forecasters warned that a second wave of heavy rain and possible flooding could occur this week.
