Abandoned Greenhouse Turns Into Mad House (PHOTOS)

Photographer Johnny Joo loves urban exploration and when nature reclaims abandoned buildings he comes running. In the Ohio countryside he found a massive greenhouse that Mother Nature turned into what Johnny calls “a mad house.”

From 2012 to 2014 Johnny travelled to this site to photograph the ever-changing and mysterious ruins of a once active greenhouse.

"It's wild how fast nature can reclaim a space made specifically for producing plants and the like," says Johnny during an interview with weather.com.

The greenhouse is littered with remnants of a once vibrant building and the effects of nature returning to fill in the gaps left by humans.

In 2006 Johnny discovered his love for photography. He picked up an old 1980s Minolta and it progressed from there.

Weather also plays a big part in his photography.

"One day during a sunny evening could be rubbish, while during a cloudy day can create the exact mood I felt by seeing the location," says Johnny. "Not only that but the weather can have huge impacts on how the location itself is being showcased, through sounds and imagery created."

Exploring an abandoned greenhouse offers a much calmer form of discovery for Johnny than urban buildings.

Johnny feels that, "our world has so much to offer, and always something different every way you look. If you're not searching, you're missing a lot of it."
