Major National Park Changes Coming In 2026

February 20, 2026

2026 is a milestone year for America's national parks as the National Park Service celebrates the nation's 250th anniversary with three major changes visitors need to know. U.S. residents will have eight new free entry days, including Presidents' Day, Memorial Day, Flag Day, Independence Day weekend, Constitution Day, Theodore Roosevelt's birthday and Veterans Day. Non-U.S. residents will pay a $100-per-person fee at 11 major parks including Yellowstone, Grand Canyon, Yosemite, Glacier, Rocky Mountain, Zion, Acadia, Bryce Canyon, Grand Teton, Everglades and Sequoia and Kings Canyon starting Jan. 1. New digital America the Beautiful passes let visitors store access on mobile devices, cover two motorcycles instead of one and feature patriotic designs honoring America's landscapes.
