...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... WHAT...Snow and blowing snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. WHERE...La Salle, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake IL, and Northern Cook Counties. WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. Blowing snow will cause sharply reduced visibilities, particularly in open areas. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for Illinois can be obtained at www.gettingaroundillinois.com. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. WHERE...Illinois and Indiana nearshore from Winthrop Harbor, IL to Michigan City, IN. WHEN...Until 10 PM CDT this evening. IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Mariners should alter plans to avoid these hazardous conditions. Remain in port, seek safe harbor, alter course, and/or secure the vessel for hazardous conditions.
