...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 7 PM THIS EVENING TO 7 PM CDT SUNDAY... WHAT...Heavy snow and widespread blowing snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 5 and 10 inches. Localized totals up to a foot possible near the South Dakota border. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. WHERE...Wadena, East Otter Tail, Grant, and West Otter Tail Counties. WHEN...From 7 PM this evening to 7 PM CDT Sunday. IMPACTS...Heavy snow amounts, near blizzard conditions, and significant drifting will make travel dangerous and potentially impossible, particularly in open country. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Persons should consider delaying travel. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you. Items in a winter storm kit should include water, a first aid kit, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets, extra clothing, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.
