WHAT...For the first Small Craft Advisory, Rough bar conditions expected. Southwest winds around 20 to 25 kt with gusts up to 30 kt. For the Gale Warning, seas 12 to 14 ft at 11 seconds and southwest winds 25 to 35 kt with gusts up to 40 kt expected. For the second Small Craft Advisory, rough bar conditions expected. West winds 10 to 20 kt with gusts up to 25 kt. Seas 12 to 15 ft subsiding to 7 ft Friday morning. WHERE...In the Main Channel of the Columbia River Bar. WHEN...Small Craft Advisory, until 2 PM PDT this afternoon. Gale Warning, until 2 AM PDT Thursday. Small Craft Advisory, from 2 AM to 5 PM PDT Thursday. IMPACTS...Strong winds will cause hazardous seas which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Ebb current of 1.38 kt at 1149 PM Wednesday with seas 12 to 15 ft. Ebb current of 3.53 kt at 1217 PM Thursday with seas 9 ft. Ebb current of 1.5 kt at 111 AM Friday with seas 7 ft. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Gale Warning means winds of 34 to 47 knots are imminent or occurring. Operating a vessel in gale conditions requires experience and properly equipped vessels. It is highly recommended that mariners without the proper experience seek safe harbor prior to the onset of gale conditions.
