WHAT...For the Winter Storm Warning, heavy wet snow. Additional snow accumulations between 4 and 7 inches, highest across the northern Door Peninsula and Washington Island. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. For the Winter Storm Watch, heavy snow possible. Total snow accumulations between 12 and 18 inches with localized totals in excess of 24 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 45 mph. WHERE...Door County. WHEN...For the Winter Storm Warning, until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. For the Winter Storm Watch, from Saturday evening through Monday afternoon. IMPACTS...For the Winter Storm Warning, plan on slippery road conditions. Patchy blowing and drifting snow could significantly reduce visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. For the Winter Storm Watch Saturday night through Monday afternoon, the strong winds and weight of snow on tree limbs may down power lines and could cause sporadic power outages. Whiteout and near blizzard conditions are possible and may make travel treacherous and potentially life-threatening. Travel could be very difficult to impossible.
