...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 1 PM CDT THIS AFTERNOON... WHAT...Snow and blowing snow. Additional snow accumulations between 1 and 3 inches. Winds gusting as high as 45 mph. WHERE...La Salle, DuPage, Kane, Kendall, Lake IL, and Northern Cook Counties. WHEN...Until 1 PM CDT this afternoon. IMPACTS...Roads, and especially bridges and overpasses, will become slick and hazardous. Plan on slippery road conditions. Blowing snow will cause sharply reduced visibilities, particularly in open areas. The hazardous conditions will impact the Monday morning commute. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Slow down and use caution while traveling. The latest road conditions for Illinois can be obtained at www.gettingaroundillinois.com. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and use caution while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways. ...FLOOD ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 10 AM CDT THIS MORNING... WHAT...Flooding caused by previous excessive rainfall continues. WHERE...Portions of northeast Illinois, including the following counties, Cook, DuPage, Kane, Kendall and Will and northwest Indiana, including the following county, Lake IN. WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT. IMPACTS...Creeks and streams will remain at bankfull or crest in minor flood stage. Partial flooding of low-lying areas such as fields and ditches will continue. Due to falling temperatures and falling snow, flood waters may be slow to recede or may even freeze in place, particularly in ditches and fields. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 441 AM CDT, river gauge levels in the advisory area indicate that many rivers and creeks are in action or minor flood stage. In addition, many fields, ditches, and other low lying areas are full of water. - Some locations that are experiencing flooding include...
