Chesapeake Bay from Sandy Point to North Beach MD... Chesapeake Bay north of Pooles Island MD... Chester River to Queenstown MD... Patapsco River including Baltimore Harbor... Until 500 PM EDT. At 257 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing waterspouts were located along a line extending from 11 nm west of Annapolis to 8 nm east of Fort Washington to 7 nm northeast of Port Tobacco River, moving northeast at 55 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts in excess of 48 knots and waterspouts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Boaters could easily be thrown overboard by suddenly higher wind and waves capsizing their vessel. Boats could suffer significant damage in high winds. Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Locations impacted include... WHAT...Up to one and a half feet of inundation above ground level in low lying areas due to tidal flooding. WHERE...Shoreline in Anne Arundel County. WHEN...Until 11 PM EDT this evening, especially around the time of high tide. IMPACTS...At 3.0 feet, Compromise Street begins to flood in Annapolis. Flooding of much of the City Dock parking lot is occurring. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Tides two to two and a half feet above normal. The next high tide at Annapolis U.S. Naval Academy is at 4:30 PM and 4:33 AM. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If travel is required, allow extra time as some roads may be closed.
