WHERE...Litchfield and Berkshire County in western New England. In New York, the Eastern Columbia, Eastern Dutchess, and Eastern Rensselaer Counties. In Vermont, Bennington and Western Windham Counties. WHEN...From 2 PM this afternoon to 11 AM EDT Tuesday. IMPACTS...Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...South to southwest winds will strengthen this afternoon into this evening before a potent cold front sweeps through the region tonight resulting in winds to switch to the west. Wind gusts today through Tuesday morning can peak up to 50mph. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. ...FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 5 AM EDT EARLY THIS MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING... WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be possible. WHERE...Northwestern Connecticut and western Massachusetts WHEN...From 5 AM EDT early this morning through Tuesday morning. IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Periods of moderate to heavy rain along with some embedded thunderstorms are expected to track into western New England today before a cold front sweeps through the region tonight. A total of 1 to 2.5 inches of rain is likely through Tuesday morning which can lead to rises on area rivers and streams and result in urban and poor drainage flooding, especially during heavy downpours. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
