WHERE...Central and northern Iowa, including I-35 and I-80. WHEN...Until 7 AM CDT Friday. IMPACTS...Damaging winds will blow down trees and power lines. Widespread power outages are expected. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Remain in the lower levels of your home during the windstorm, and avoid windows. Watch for falling debris and tree limbs. Use caution if you must drive.

A swath of heavy snowfall and strong winds may result in blizzard conditions and significant impacts during this time. There is still some uncertainty in how far south into Iowa the heaviest snowfall may occur, but the most likely areas to see these significant impacts are north of Highway 20.
