...FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL TUESDAY, MARCH 17... WHAT...Moderate flooding is occurring and moderate flooding is forecast. WHERE...East Fork White River at Shoals. WHEN...Until Tuesday, March 17. IMPACTS...At 28.0 feet, Beginning April 25, 2011 and continuing through May 8, 2011 three county roads were closed because of East Fork White River flooding in northern Dubois County. Portersville Rd W was closed in two locations...just east of CR 500W and between CR 650W and CR 660W. One other county road was flooded. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 9:30 PM EDT Tuesday the stage was 27.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 9:30 PM EDT Tuesday was 27.5 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to rise to a crest of 27.7 feet just after midnight tonight. East Fork White River at Williams. .Minor to moderate flooding continues on the East Fork White after the significant rainfall last week. Additional rainfall of 0.75 to 1.5 inches today through Wednesday night was included in the forecast. The crest on the East Fork is near Williams, with the stage at Shoals expected to begin falling Friday. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov/ind.
