WHERE...Portions of Illinois, including the following counties, Cook, Grundy, Kankakee, La Salle, Livingston and Will and northwest Indiana, including the following county, Lake IN. WHEN...Until 1000 AM CDT. IMPACTS...Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Underpasses may be flooded. Roads and streets may be flooded. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 609 AM CDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicate a swath of 1 to 3 inches of rain fell over the warned area late last evening, with a localized amounts near 4 inches across parts of central Livingston county. While the threat for additional heavy rain is ending, standing water on roads will continue this morning. Additionally, several creeks and streams, particularly across southern Cook county are rising into action or minor flood stage. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the warned area. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... WHERE...Kankakee River from Near I-65 and De Motte downstream to IL/IN state line, including the Shelby gauge. WHEN...From Saturday afternoon until further notice. IMPACTS...At 11.5 feet, Low-lying residences are threatened along Bluegrass Road east of Sumava Resorts and along Westwood Drive and Island Boulevard near Shelby. A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and property. These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may cause changes to these river forecasts. Additional information is available at www.weather.gov. The next statement will be issued by Saturday evening.
