...LAKE EFFECT SNOW WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS EVENING... WHAT...Heavy lake effect snow. Additional snow accumulations 2 to 5 inches in the most persistent lake snows, greatest across the Tug Hill Plateau. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph will produce blowing and drifting snow. WHERE...Jefferson and Lewis Counties. The greatest additional accumulations will be across the Tug Hill Plateau. WHEN...Until 8 PM EDT this evening. IMPACTS...Plan on snow covered and slippery road conditions with very poor visibility. The hazardous conditions will impact the Tuesday evening commute. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...The band of heavy lake effect snow will continue to drift south this afternoon, with improving travel conditions in Watertown and Fort Drum. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
