At 209 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was located over St. Simons Island, moving northeast at 40 knots. HAZARD...Wind gusts to 40 knots and small hail. SOURCE...Radar. IMPACT...Small craft could be damaged in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves. Locations impacted include... St Simons Island Village, St Simons Sound Buoy 9, St. Simons Island, Jekyll Island, Saint Andrews Sound, and Buoy F. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for southeastern Georgia...and the adjacent coastal waters. Boaters should seek safe harbor immediately until this storm passes. Wind gusts to 40 knots, small hail, high waves, dangerous lightning, and heavy rain are possible with this storm. If your vessel is caught offshore, immediately secure for heavy weather.
