...BLIZZARD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CDT MONDAY... WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 20 and 30 inches. Winds gusting as high as 50 mph will result in considerable blowing and drifting snow and blizzard conditions this afternoon into Monday. WHERE...Oneida, Vilas, Florence, Forest, Northern Marinette County, Northern Oconto County, and Southern Marinette counties. WHEN...Until 4 PM CDT Monday. IMPACTS...Travel could be very difficult to impossible with potential for whiteout conditions. Gusty winds could bring down tree branches and cause power outages. The Monday morning commute will be severely impacted. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... People should consider delaying all travel. Motorists should use extreme caution if travel is absolutely necessary. Travel should be restricted to emergencies only. If you must travel, have a winter survival kit with you. If you get stranded, stay with your vehicle. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1.

...HEAVY SNOW CONTINUES ACROSS NORTHERN WISCONSIN THIS MORNING... An intense band of heavy snow continued this morning from Marshfield and Wisconsin Rapids northward to Rhinelander and then eastward through Antigo, Shawano, Marinette, Oconto and Florence. Snowfall rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour were reported with this band of heavy snow. Thunder snow is possible. As of 10 am this morning, Wausau has recorded 19.3 inches of snow. The intense band of snow should continue for the rest of the morning. Snowfall rates of 2 to 4 inches per hour should continue. Increasing northeast to north winds will create blizzard conditions through Monday morning. Motorist should encounter difficult conditions with snow covered roads and visibilities around 1/4 mile or less. A Blizzard Warning remains in effect until 4 pm Monday.
