...WINTER STORM WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 7 PM CDT SUNDAY... WHAT...Heavy snow and widespread blowing snow. Additional snow accumulations between 2 and 4 inches. Winds gusting as high as 40 mph. WHERE...Wadena, East Otter Tail, Grant, and West Otter Tail Counties. WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT Sunday. IMPACTS...Heavy snow amounts, near blizzard conditions, and significant drifting will make travel dangerous and potentially impossible, particularly in open country. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle in case of an emergency. The latest road conditions for the state you are calling from can be obtained by calling 5 1 1. Persons should delay all travel if possible. If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution and be prepared for sudden changes in visibility. Leave plenty of room between you and the motorist ahead of you, and allow extra time to reach your destination. Consider taking a winter storm kit along with you, including such items as tire chains, booster cables, flashlight, shovel, blankets and extra clothing. Also take water, a first aid kit, and anything else that would help you survive in case you become stranded.
