WHERE...Gulf-facing beaches, including the Matagorda Peninsula, Brazoria County beaches, Galveston Island and the Bolivar Peninsula. WHEN...Until 7 PM CDT this evening. IMPACTS...Rip currents can sweep even the best swimmers away from shore into deeper water. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Swim near a lifeguard and away from rocks, jetties, and piers. If caught in a rip current, relax and float. Don't swim against the current. If able, swim in a direction following the shoreline. If unable to escape, face the shore and call or wave for help.

Gulf winds 25 to 30 knots with gusts up to 40 knots. Rough bay waters. Gulf seas 6 to 10 ft expected. WHERE...Portions of Gulf of America. WHEN...From 10 PM this evening to 4 PM CDT Thursday. IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...There is some possibility of higher winds, especially in the vicinity of lingering thunderstorms this evening. Seas above 10 ft cannot be ruled out in our offshoremost zones. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
