WHAT...For the Blowing Dust Advisory, visibility between one-quarter and one mile in blowing dust expected. For the High Wind Warning, northwest winds 35 to 45 mph with gusts up to 65 mph expected. WHERE...The far southern Texas Panhandle, South Plains, and Rolling Plains. WHEN...From 7 AM this morning to 7 PM CDT this evening. IMPACTS...Hazardous driving conditions are likely due to blowing dust. Power outages are also possible. Travel will be difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Widespread blowing dust may result in significant reductions to visibility. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Wind...Northwest winds becoming north at 35 to 45 mph, with gusts up to 65 mph expected. Humidity...As low as 15 percent. Fuels...Critically dry. Impacts...Any fires that develop can spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is discouraged. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now, or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures can contribute to extreme fire behavior.
