...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 1145 PM CDT THIS EVENING... WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected. WHERE...A portion of central Alabama, including the following counties, Calhoun, Cherokee, Cleburne and Talladega. WHEN...Until 1145 PM CDT. IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 833 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Anniston, Oxford, Jacksonville, Piedmont, Heflin, Fort McClellan, Saks, West End-Cobb Town, Cobb Town, Weaver, Munford, Hobson City, Jacksonville State University, Blue Mountain, Alexandria, Oxford Lake, Anniston Regional Airport, Bynum, Grant Town and Pleasant Gap. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the dangers of flooding.

WHEN...Until 1115 PM CDT. IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 912 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Cedar Bluff, Gaylesville, Blanche, Cornwall Furnace Park, Eastern Weiss Lake, Western Weiss Lake, Broomtown, Fullerton and New Moon. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
