...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 PM EST FRIDAY... WHAT...Flooding caused by prior excessive rainfall. WHERE...The following counties, in southeast Indiana, Dearborn, Ohio and Ripley. WHEN...Until 230 PM EST Friday. IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 838 PM EST, emergency management reported flooding of numerous streets and roads in and around Friendship. Laugherty Creek is still rising at this moment in time due to runoff from earlier rainfall in northern Ripley County. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is expected. - Some locations that may experience flooding include... French, Hartford and Friendship. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles. IMPACTS...At 16.0 feet, Lowland flooding can be expected near Cedar Grove and New Trenton, with lowland flooding also occurring in West Harrison, Indiana and Harrison, Ohio. ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 11:45 AM EST Thursday the stage was 15.7 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall, receding below the 14 foot action stage by midnight tonight. It will continue falling through the weekend. - Action stage is 14.0 feet. - Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
